Where hope lives and change begins

Supporting healing, resilience, and long-term stability

The Foundation

Mere’s World is named in honor of Ja’Mere M Alfred, who was tragically killed at the age of 14 on Christmas Day by senseless gun violence. Formerly known as The King Ja’Mere Foundation, Mere’s World promotes healing and resilience through connection to affected families dealing with the challenges of the loss of a loved one to gun violence and incarceration. By providing emotional and mental support the foundation is dedicated to creating lasting changes through advocacy and compassion, ensuring that every family we touch can thrive.

A model of inspiration

LaRicha A. Pierre

Mere’s World Foundation was founded by LaRicha A. Pierre to honor her son, Ja’Mere M. Alfred, who was tragically killed at the age of 14 on Christmas Day by senseless gun violence. As an established community leader advocating for families who have lost loved ones in tragedy and incarceration, LaRicha motivates others to build a life of healing and resilience through connection. Overcoming the impact of being raised with an imprisoned parent has also influenced her charitable work for those dealing with the emotional and mental challenges of loss. LaRicha’s inspirational advocacy and dedication to address gun violence has been recognized locally and nationally with two trips to the White House.
